Spring has sprung and warmth is in the air!  The last two days we were out testing skis so our apologies for no reports.  With bluebird skies and warm temperatures reaching the mid-4o’s in the upper elevations the last few days, its “Corn O’ Clock” for soft snow enthusiasts who prefer peel away corn over untouched powder.  What many refer to as “Poor Mans Powder,” could be found on south facing aspects for beautiful spring skiing on trail, in the woods or in the backcountry.

Yesterday evening marked our 2nd evening gathering for our Wednesday Skin and Sip gathering in the Midway parking lot for 5:30pm skin up Perry Merrill.  We were greeted with bluebird skies and soft snow for the ascent, but by the time the sun dipped down conditions refroze and were very firm and challenging on the descent to say the least. None the less, a good time was had by all for a warm climb and ice cold beverage of choice to celebrate turns earned back at the tailgate.  Today is wet day, but  the forecast is calling for a partly sunny day tomorrow with temps that could get back into the lower 40’s for more soft snow skiing.
