We are now at our peak of snow depth for season, with the Mansfield snow stake reading a high point of 65”.  The backcountry has the deepest base of the season right now, so cover is excellent no matter where you go.  But please be aware that recent heavy wind events and temperature changes have caused the snow to change to primarily wind effected snow in most places, with only the most protected areas in the trees still yielding some powdery turns. All other areas you will find a combination of variable surface conditions- From chalk to windslab, breakable crust, non-breakable crust, powder and packed powder. Regardless, get out there and enjoy the best coverage we have had all season!
