"Fleece" doesn't have to mean "corporate logo vest for dweebs." Ortovox's fleece jacket folds in premium Swisswool and Loden materials for higher warmth and water resistance, all in a stylish, sleek design.

If you hear “fleece” and think “corporate logo vest for dweebs,” you’ve never met the Ortovox Fleece Jacket. The Swiss company uses a specialty knitting pattern to give their Merino fleece a sleek matte finish, and accent color blocks for a fashionable, eye-catching look.

You’ve never experienced a fleece layer this warm, dry, and cozy. Ortovox uses two specialty material inserts in their fleece jackets. The first is a classic highly waterproof traditional wool called Loden, which retains the natural lanolin that is often chemically removed from mass-market wools. The second, Swisswool, is both far warmer than standard wool and a mark of Ortovox’s commitment to preserving the mountain way of life.

Swisswool comes from hand-shorn, mountain-grazing sheep that have seen more of the Alps than most humans ever will. The supply chain underlying Swisswool is all about sustainability -- for the shepherds as well as their herds. Ortovox’s supplier has set up two dozen collection stations in valleys throughout the alps, allowing remote sheep-herding families to deliver this premium product to market in a simple, convenient, efficient fashion, and enjoy the just rewards of their hard year-round work. You’ll feel great inside the Ortovox Fleece Jacket, and not just because it’s so cozy and functional.
