With a lot of high pressure and dry weather lately, the biking continues to deliver the spring stoke.  With most of the local mapped trail networks now dry, mountain bikers are rejoicing with places like Sterling Valley, Katies Falls and the renowned Perry Hill trails now open, even from the very top.  But biking is more than just sweet single track.  Gravel riding has certainly taken off over the past few years and can be a welcome change or alternative for some, or for those who prefer wider open spaces and covering longer distances in shorter time periods.  From the many quiet dirt back roads, double track or logging roads, to the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail pictured here, keeping the pedals turning on whatever application you choose to ride is the most important thing.  Whether it’s in the woods, on the bike paths and rail trails, or out on dirt or paved roads, traveling by bike lets you slow things down a bit, notice the finer details of the landscape around you while keeping your mind and body running as smoothly as your pedal stroke.
