Our Take:
Having used this shoe extensively, we have determined that the Nnormal Tomir 02 was purpose built for the kind of terrain we have here in the Northeast. It is built rugged and can withstand hundreds of miles and months of abuse. One of our people got 700 miles out of this shoe. This is a quiver-killing shoe with the chops for anything in the northeast. Perfect for a Presidential Traverse or daily trail runs through single track and rocky trails. These things just don't quit.
The Vibram MegaGrip 5mm lugs are incredibly grippy on rock, mud, ice and snow, transcending seasonal trail conditions.
The firm midsole is conducive to long runs and EXCELLENT for backpacking with a heavy load. The midsoles are wildly resilient and supportive over the long term.
The upper is rugged and highly breathable. Allowing your feet to dry quickly after a puddle plunge. Asymmetrical lacing is ergonomic and conforming to your first metatarsal allowing a very precise fit. Otherwise, same fit as the update Tomir 02 NN.
Fit: True to size with a moderate last able to be tightened for narrow feet or loosened for wider feet. While quite light, they are overbuilt for durability and require a 10-15 mile break in period. Like a good baseball glove, they will break in wonderfully and last a long, long time.Â
