Built in Bormio, Italy, the Ski Trab Titan Vario.2 Blue is a study in elegant restraint—ultralight, mechanically precise, and purpose-built for ski tourers who move fast and travel far. Stripped of excess (no brake, no fluff), this binding delivers uncompromising functionality with exceptional release quality in a remarkably low-weight package.
At just 250 grams, the Vario.2 Blue is engineered around Ski Trab’s signature Titanium Core toe system. Independent jaws flex and adapt to the boot, improving retention while reducing the risk of unwanted release. Underfoot, a refined heel unit provides generous elasticity and tunable release ranges, creating a smooth, predictable feel whether you’re skinning long approaches or committing to the fall line.
This is touring gear at its most distilled—light, reliable, and built to last.
Ultralight, reliable, and highly functional touring binding
Designed and manufactured in Italy
Can be toured with the toe unlocked in avalanche-prone terrain
Refined release performance with high elasticity
Exceptionally durable materials and construction
Minimalist setup with no ski brake
Titanium Core System
A single titanium component links the toe jaws, allowing them to function independently rather than symmetrically. This elegant design improves elasticity, enhances boot retention, and significantly reduces the likelihood of accidental release.
Entry is simple and intuitive: engage the lever by hand or pole, step in, and lock. The elastic titanium wire adapts to all compatible boot inserts, while precision-machined pins actively clear snow and ice during use.
Independent Titanium Jaws
Each jaw responds individually to movement, increasing safety and consistency compared to traditional pin systems.
Roto-Riveted Pins
Hardened steel pins with self-cleaning hollows are roto-riveted for long-term durability and secure anchoring.
The heel unit is engineered for smooth energy absorption and controlled release:
Up to 43° of lateral elasticity
Sliding track with up to 8 mm of elastic travel
Three selectable front and lateral release ranges
The result is a binding that skis confidently while maintaining predictable release characteristics in variable snow and demanding terrain.
